At Parkwood Primary School, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, belong and thrive. We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and high-expectation learning environment where students are supported to achieve their personal best and develop the confidence, skills and character to succeed both at school and beyond.
Serving the Parkwood community since 1975, our school has a proud tradition of providing high-quality education while embracing innovation and continuous improvement. We cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and are also home to an Intensive English Centre, welcoming students and families from many different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This rich diversity is one of our greatest strengths and helps create a vibrant, inclusive school community where everyone is valued.
Our dedicated and passionate staff work collaboratively to deliver engaging, evidence-informed teaching that supports every student’s academic, social and emotional development. Through explicit teaching practices, high expectations and targeted support, we strive to ensure every student experiences success and develops a love of learning.
Student wellbeing is central to everything we do. We foster positive relationships, encourage respectful behaviour and provide a safe, caring environment where every child feels connected and supported. Programs such as the Berry Street Education Model and URStrong along with our Positive Behaviour Guidelines help students develop resilience, confidence and the skills to build positive relationships.
Strong partnerships with families and the wider community are fundamental to our success. We value open communication and believe that when schools and families work together, students achieve the best possible outcomes. We are proud of the strong relationships we have built with our parents, School Board, P&C Association and community partners, all of whom contribute to making Parkwood Primary School a vibrant place to learn.
